Reduce the file size of a scanned document - ControlCenter4 - Windows

c. Adjust the following settings to affect file size:

- Resolution: This is how sharp an image will be based on the dots per inch scanned (DPI). The higher the DPI the clearer the image will be, however the scan time and document size will increase.

- Scan Type: This is the color scan option. The higher the color quality selected the longer the scan job will take to complete and the larger the file size will be.

d. Once the document has scanned, if you click Save or Send Email , you can adjust the File Size Priority if you have selected JPEG or PDF formats. You can move the slider bar between Small and Large to adjust the file size.

Custom

a. Do one of the following:

- To configure the Scan button on the Brother machine: Click Configuration → Button Settings → Device Settings → Choose the Scan tab that you want to configure).

- To configure the Scan option used from within the ControlCenter software: Click Configuration → Button Settings → Scan → Choose the desired Scan Type.

b. You can adjust the File Size if you have selected JPEG or PDF formats. You can move the slider bar between Small and Large to adjust the file size.

c. Click OK . All subsequent scans with the scan type you configured will use the selected settings.
